I have been where you are or may have been at one time! Yes, I have wanted to end my life, have been in abusive relationships, have stolen, cheated, lied, I have been an overeater and yo-yo dieter, I have run from my problems, I haven’t been a good parent and tried to control my children, I fought with my family and tried fixing them, I controlled what others wanted to do, I changed what I wanted to do because someone told me I should, I gossiped, said not nice things and cut people down so I could feel better about myself, I smoked cigarettes (okay it was only about 12 of them), I have been drunk, I got in vehicle accidents, I have been fired (I would like to think I was ‘let go’), I lost loved ones through death and divorce, I had major financial problems – in more ways than you may know, I was even homeless for about a week…I could go on. I am even an identical twin and have a dysfunctional family.
I have experienced things that have been painful and I have experienced miracles. Everything that I have experienced has helped me grow to this person I am today! I am now in a place where I can truly say my life is different.
The past does not shape me. It is only there to reference if I need it. Today forward is all that matters because it is today that I can choose to change and be brighter and more peaceful for all of us.
Thank you to my most wonderful husband Jimmy, for his unconditional love and support in everything I do. Every day he teaches me more about what love is all about. Thank you also to our two precious daughters, their partners and our grand daughter, for their love and support and the perfection in who they are. I love them for what they continue to teach me about respecting and honoring who they are.
